Over time the cardboard will worsen and stop performing as it is intended. This is similar to the progressive nature of the disease Alzheimer’s. For a while you will remain functional but over time this can slowly get worse and worse and at different rates as no two person with Alzheimer’s is the same.

 

 

A symptom of Alzheimer’s is being unable to perform tasks as you once could. 

 

The signals in your brain are unable to pass messages on, so the ability to perform a task sometimes take a little longer than it used to.

Someone with Alzheimer’s will understand the objects use but using it is the hard part, daily tasks become a constant struggle. 

 

Recognising objects as appearing to be something else, or being miss led or miss represented.

 

Lot of information can be overwhelming for someone with Alzheimer’s and cause even more confusion. Communicating can become a struggle over time, finding the right words or following a conversation can be difficult. Speaking with someone about the disease can be a helpful form of therapy to help understand the disease and to realise you can live well with Alzheimer’s. 

 

A symptom of Alzheimer’s is problems with visuospatial skills, the inability to judge distances and differentiate between various objects from 2D/3D but also different materials. 

Mixed Alzheimer’s effects the Posterioir Cortical Atrophy (PCA) part of you brain which processes visual information and deals with spatial awareness. Brains cells of this region start to deteriorate affecting your eyesight and your judgment. In severe cases this can cause hallucinations and delusion.
