ABOUT ALZHEIMER'S WITHOUT ALZHEIMER'S

Alzheimer’s disease is on the increase and affecting many , not just the elderly. As this disease is impacting 520,000 people in the UK it is in the general publics best interest to understand the disease to work towards finding a cure. Alzheimer’s Without Alzheimer’s is a set  of objects and workshops designed to educate the masses and teach what cant be taught about Alzheimer’s in books;empathy.

Looking specifically at the emotions a person with Alzheimer’s commonly feel and applying these to  everyday objects and tasks we can all relate to, will make us see the disease in a different light.

EMPATHY

The Tools within the kit are based on  a type of learning which unlocks empathy. This is the ability to put yourself in someone elses shoes to understand their thoughts, feelings and attitudes. This highly cretaive process provides a foundation for our learning, it is empathy that allows us to learn from mulitple points of view and encourages us to be open minded and flexible in our thinking.
